Mandy was a girl with a big, happy smile.
She loved to paint and dance in style!
Pink and blue were her favorite hues,
And she loved strawberries—reds, bright and true!

One sunny morning, while painting away,
    A rainbow appeared—hooray, hooray!
Out stepped a unicorn, shiny and bright,
Its mane full of sparkles, its eyes full of light.

“Mandy, oh Mandy! We need you today!
The colors are fading—turning all gray!
The sea looks dull, the castle too,
We need bright colors—pink, green, and blue!”

“Oh yes!” said Mandy, with a jump and a spin,
She grabbed her brush and twirled right in!
Through a rainbow tunnel—zip, zap, zoom!
She landed right by the castle room.

But oh no! The castle was gray and sad,
No color, no sparkle—it looked so bad!
Mandy took her brush and gave a big swoosh,
A wave of pink—whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
  • Intermediate / 650-800 Words

Mandy was a girl full of giggles and cheer,
She loved to paint pictures and dance far and near.
Her favorite things were pink, blue, and sparkly hues,
And a basket of strawberries she’d never refuse.

One sunny morning, while painting away,
A rainbow appeared in the sky that day.
Out stepped a unicorn, all silver and bright,
Its mane full of sparkles, its smile pure delight.

“Hello there, Mandy! We need your aid.
The castle’s gone gray, and the magic’s decayed.
The sea has turned dull, and the unicorns sigh.
Will you help bring the magic back to the sky?”
“Oh yes!” Mandy cried, with a hop and a skip,
She packed up her berries and readied her trip.
The unicorn led her through a portal of light,
And they reached the castle—a sad, gloomy sight.
The castle had doors, three colors in view:
One was pink, one was silver, and one was blue.
A soft voice whispered, “Show kindness and care.
Show courage and grit to repair what’s there.”
  • Advanced / 700-850 Words

Mandy was no ordinary girl. Oh no, she was an absolute marvel! A pint-sized whirlwind of energy with paint on her fingers and a twirl in her toes. If you gave her a blank page, she’d fill it with pinks and purples, with stars and swirls, with castles that touched the sky and unicorns that winked. And if you handed her a basket of strawberries—well, you’d best be quick, because she’d gobble them up before you could blink.

One particularly splendid morning, Mandy sat in her garden, brush in hand, painting a magnificent rainbow. The colors stretched high and bright, so dazzling they almost looked real. Then—POOF! With a great shimmering flash, something extraordinary happened.

The rainbow shivered. It wobbled. And then, as if someone had thrown open a door in the sky, out trotted a unicorn!

Now, this was not just any unicorn. This was a unicorn of the highest order. Its silver mane sparkled like moonlight on water, its hooves left tiny trails of glitter with every step, and its enormous, luminous eyes were filled with worry.

“Mandy! Oh, thank goodness I found you!” the unicorn exclaimed, flicking its shimmering tail. “We have a catastrophe of the most dreadful kind!”
